Avalon has been providing affordable homes for the homeless for the past 4 years.  Already we have 9 homes and the number will grow!  Our goal is to provide hope, stability and support for the most vulnerable members in the community.  We aim to enable our renters to recover control over their lives and develop a sense of self-respect and belief.   Each home is fully furnished with the inclusion of all linen, bedding, crockery, appliances and food.  A supporter is provided with each home to give support in whatever way is needed.  Avalon Homes for the Homeless is based on the Housing First model.  Secure, long-term accommodation provides a stable platform for renters to integrate back into the community at their own pace.   

Our Homes have been made possible by the generosity of wonderful donors.  We have had donations to buy properties and also material donations to help  furnish the home and buy the essential items (eg, a washing machine, dryer etc).  We now offer the opportunity for people to make a tax deductible donation to service a mortgage loan.  A group of 5 people could put a roof over the head of a homeless family for less than $10.00 a day and make a contribution to change lives.  Ongoing progress reports are provided to all donors.
