There is an adoption fee for the animals which is used to cover vet bills, food, training, bedding and any extra expenses when the dogs come in. Sound like that would cover costs.. but with the numbers of animals that come and go each month, this group averages vet bills around $6,000-$11,000 every single month. Thats much more than even the average persons mortgage each month. No animal gets adopted out without being desexed, all vaccinations up to date, microchipped and flea and worm treated…and then there are other individual cases of big costs for some of them that have been severely neglected or abused.

AWAR works with the pound and takes every animal it can. For every week an animal that gets adopted, another large number get surrendered or dumped.

We have been making this work since 2010.

The rescue group is not-for-profit and receives no government funding. Survives only on adoption fees, fundraisers, donations and volunteers.
