Afghan Women on the Move (AWOTM) is seeking help to provide urgent and practical support to Afghan women and their families living in and newly arrived in Australia.

Afghan women and their families living in Australia are in need of practical support and mental health assistance. By supporting AWOTM, we will be able to help provide the support desperately needed, critical information and resources to its own community. As well, we focus on life skills, leadership, empowerment in order to support women and families to resettle with stability in Australia.

Because most of our women and families have experienced trauma, mental health will always be a key priority within AWOTM’s health and wellness / life skills project priorities.

We provide our women with opportunities to grow and develop in a safe place. We use art, music and poetry as a healing language for our members. We also work to educate the mainstream, broader community on the issues faced by culturally diverse women in today’s Australian society.

Your donation to Afghan Women on the Move will help us to deliver new and practical support required now. Our work also helps build community cohesion, where everyone feels they belong. For this reason, we also aim to work with people of many different backgrounds. We are delighted you are now a partner in our work in the community.
