Balcombe Estuary Reserves Group (BERG) Mt Martha Inc. is a friends group formed in 1997 to preserve and restore the ecology of the Balcombe Estuary Reserves and Mount Martha Coastal woodlands.

Balcombe Creek, with its estuary, is the last unspoilt waterway entering the eastern side of Port Phillip Bay. The reserves cover 44 hectares of natural bushland along the creek's lower reaches. From Balcombe Headland to Alice Street, the Mount Martha Coastal woodlands cover over seven hectares of vulnerable Banksia woodland.

Your donation will assist us in continuing with General Environmental Works and Special Projects, including:

• removing quantities of weeds
• planting many thousands of indigenous plants raised from local seed
• installing fencing and environmental protection infrastructure
• monitoring the quality of the water in the estuary
• addressing issues such as sedimentation and that impact on the creek and reserves
• building community awareness, knowledge and involvement
