Gippsland’s Biggest P.J. Day is a partnership between a group of community supporters and ABLFFK. The goal of Gippsland’s Biggest P.J. Day is to:

– Raise money

– Grow awareness

– Collect donated goods

All three goals aim to support children in out of home care and their carers. 

Based in Gippsland, A Better Life for Foster Kids was founded in 2014 by Heather Baird, who herself grew up in foster care. A Better Life for Foster Kids works to improve short and long-term physical, educational and psycho-social outcomes for children in foster care and kinship care. We aim to preserve children’s dignity, improve their feelings of self-worth and lessen social stigma. We provide material assistance to children entering out of home care. Our core support program is Crisis Cases - they are provided at the time of emergency removal and full of age appropriate essentials, toys and books, to cover the needs of a child in thier first week of out-of-home care. A Better Life for Foster Kids also provides extensive advocacy and support for carers to help them navigate the complex system.
