Did you know that 1 in 4 Australian women have experienced at least one incident of violence by an intimate partner or family member*?
25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and marks day one of the 16 Days of Activism. Each year, from 25 November to 10 December, World Human Rights Day, this campaign calls for action against one of the world’s most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.
During the 16 Days of Activism people unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discriminatory attitudes, and call for improved laws and services to end violence against women for good.
Will you unite with us?
Biyani House is a women's shelter that supports women and families in crisis, and provides emergency crisis and transitional accommodation, support, safety and outreach services for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.
In collaboration with Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), we offer accommodation that enables homeless women to rebuild self-esteem and transform their lives to heal and achieve independence.
This #16Days please donate to support us to assist more women in our community.

Biyani House Revesby Women’s Shelter pays respect to the local Traditional people of the Salt Pan Creek area, the Bidjigal (also known as Bediagal), a clan group of the coastal Dharug people of the Sydney region, who have lived here for over 60,000 years. Their land covers Salt Pan Creek, Revesby, and the estuarine surrounds north of Georges River. We proudly acknowledge Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and their rich culture, and pay respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australia’s first people and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water on which we rely. We recognise and value the ongoing contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to Australian life and how this enriches us. We embrace the spirit of reconciliation, working towards the equality of outcomes and ensuring an equal voice.
