Coast Guard Brisbane are embarking on a vessel replacement program in order to continue meeting our charter of saving lives at sea.
Coast Guard Brisbane was establihed in November 1972 and is staffed entirely by volunteers who devote much of their spare time providing Search & Rescue services and helping people stranded and requiring assistance in Brisbane's Moreton Bay waters and beyond.
Since 2018, our crews have volunteered 2,374 training sea hours and 3,430 operational sea hours devoted to protecting life at sea. During this time, our volunteers responded to over 300 calls for help and rescuing more than 660 people at sea.
The cost of a modern fully operational rescue vessel exceeds half a million dollars. As a volunteer unit, we receive minimal government funding and rely on donations from the boating public and our "Marine Assist" membership program to keep operational.
This campaign will assist us in successfully replacing our primary vessel so we can continue our operations into the future.
