About this cause

With a strong focus on empowerment of women and girls, the project partners work together to empower unemployed and vulnerable women Marurui Jua Kali slum and Mathare North, in Nairobi.

The project has positively impacted the lives of many hundreds of women and their households through self-help savings and production groups.   Involvement in the groups has enabled women to develop new skills, create small business, save for important purchases (eg school fees / medical needs / property) and become more confident and resilient.

Additionally, the project provides early childhood education for more than 100 children aged up to eight through WestWood School in the Mathare slum.
