Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) has worked with young people and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness (aged 12 to 25 years) in Brisbane and surrounding areas since 1977. We provide free and confidential services, including crisis and transitional housing, emergency relief, physical and mental health care, alcohol and drug interventions, domestic and family violence supports, and specialised programs for young women and families.
In 2024–25, 1 in 2 young people who came to BYS were homeless (51%). This proportion has steadily climbed since 2021–22, highlighting the ongoing impact of the housing and cost-of-living crises for young people in Brisbane.
You can help. Your contribution will ensure life-changing support and services continue to be available for an increasing number of young people and families when they need it most. Together, we can change young lives and create new futures.

Brisbane Youth Service respectfully acknowledges the Turrbal and Jagera people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands where BYS operates. We pay respect to their Elders past and present, lores, customs and creation spirits. BYS acknowledges and celebrates the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play within BYS and the community.
