Sheltered by Grace provides 24/7 supported accommodation for people in crisis—those sleeping rough or coming straight from jail, hospitals, or mental health wards. We take in the high-needs individuals that others can’t or won’t—people dealing with addiction, trauma, mental health challenges, and disconnection from family and community. Our model helps people stabilise, heal, and prepare for long-term housing and independent living.
We’ve helped over 1,000 people over the past 15 years, with around 25% achieving lasting sobriety, employment, and secure housing—far above sector averages for people with complex needs. But demand keeps growing. We have a waitlist of over 80 people, and it increases every week. That’s why we’re expanding.
We plan to build new supported communities across South East Queensland—in Brisbane, Ipswich, and the South Burnett—each designed around a central hub with kitchen, bathrooms, training spaces, and community areas, surrounded by cabins or caravans. This model reflects the preferences of many Indigenous communities, fostering connection and shared living. It allows us to create smaller communities within a larger site—for example, rehabilitation, women over 55, or youth—each with tailored support.
Your donation will help us create safe, healing spaces for those who need it most. Together, we can give people hope and a real chance at rebuilding their lives.
