About this cause

The Darling Downs Wildlife Hospital (DDWH) is a community-led initiative established to improve outcomes for injured, orphaned and displaced native wildlife across the Darling Downs and surrounding regions.

The hospital will provide specialised wildlife treatment, rehabilitation, education, research and community engagement opportunities while strengthening support networks for wildlife carers, veterinarians, volunteers and students.

As wildlife admissions continue to rise due to habitat loss, vehicle strikes, domestic animal attacks, disease and extreme weather events, the need for dedicated wildlife facilities has never been greater.

The DDWH aims to create a sustainable, collaborative and innovative wildlife care model that benefits both wildlife and the communities that care for them.

The Darling Downs Wildlife Hospital is envisioned as a purpose-built facility incorporating:

  • Treatment areas
  • Intensive care facilities
  • Rehabilitation spaces
  • Training rooms
  • Research capability
  • Volunteer facilities
  • Community education spaces
  • Supporting native wildlife, carers, veterinarians, students and communities across the Darling Downs and surrounding regions.

Your donations go toward:

  • Hospital Building Funds
  • Hospital Facilities
  • Hospital Medical supplies
  • Hospital Equipment
  • Veterinarian and Vet Support services
  • Supplies for wildlife carers and volunteers
