Emergency relief and social inclusion in Carlton

About this cause

Located alongside the high rise housing estate in Carlton, CAN Community Support plays an important role in supporting the local residents.

This support includes emergency relief, a food bank and market program, various well-being programs, along with longer term learning programs that support children with schoolwork, and their families with EAL programs where necessary.

Many of the people who live in the housing estate originally came from countries in the Horn of Africa, and need support accessing resources as they adjust to life in inner-city Melbourne. We are working with them to create a safe, respectful, inclusive community.

CAN Community Support is a service of the Church of All Nations Parish Mission
