CAVES is a small yet enterprising not for profit gallery located in the Nicholas Building in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Since 2017 we've maintained a free to exhibit model and with your donation we can keep this going. Established in 2015, our operations centre around exhibiting opportunities for a range of approaches to contemporary art. Our key goal remains to exhibit and support a diverse mix of contemporary artists from all stages of their career by providing an inclusive venue where vital and innovative projects can be realised. To date, we have presented over 90 exhibitions on-site and 4 off-site projects with with 250+ local (mostly) and international artists. We are committed to collaborating with, and supporting Australian artists as well as building relationships with international artists and organisations.
The pandemic has presented challenges in the way we function that has effected our programming with postponements and cancellations due to extended lockdown periods.
Donations are crucial to our longevity and no matter how small we appreciate your support.
CAVES acknowledges the traditional custodians of the unceded sovereign land on which we operate: the Boon wurrung and Woi wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay respect to all First Nations peoples and elders past and present.
