International Day of the Girl — 11 October is a time to celebrate girls everywhere — their strength, individuality, potential and dreams — and to recognise the importance of giving every girl the opportunity to feel safe, supported and hopeful about her future.

At the Lillian Howell Project, this is at the heart of what we do every day.

The girls and young women who come to Lillian’s may have experienced instability, hardship or circumstances beyond their control. What they need first can be remarkably simple, but incredibly powerful: a safe place to call home, consistent care, people who believe in them, and the space to just be a teenager.

Your donation helps make that possible.

It helps provide a safe home and everyday support, while also creating opportunities for education, activities, friendships, new experiences and the practical steps that help girls build confidence and move towards independence.

This International Day of the Girl also sits at the heart of our October for Our Girls campaign.
