Prison Fellowship Australia runs camps for children of inmates to help break the cycle of crime. Camps teach values through outdoor activities and positive leadership models. They learn new skills enabling them to make good life choices for their own future. How will the funds be used?
Children's Camps is an initiative to support and enable the holistic development of children with a parent in custody. Depending on circumstance, children of inmates may need to deal with issues of: ␣betrayal, ␣hurt, ␣doubt, ␣depression, ␣confusion,␣␣shame, ␣social exclusion, ␣loss of parental support, ␣reduced living standard and/or ␣relocation.
Recognising this, Prison Fellowship Australia has developed initiatives to help equip children with the means to confidently face and overcome obstacles and embrace a full and happy life. These camps continue in development from year to year, as they seek the best ways to aid the positive spiritual, physical, intellectual and social development of these children.
