Key Areas of Expenditure
Connect and Crisis Care
Purpose: Rather than separate these two elements - the key to the restoration of lives is bringing Connection alongside Crisis Care. We believe the immediate request of food or financial assistance is not always the true extent of a person's need. Through connection and developing relationship, we hope to support an individual's long term future.
Mimi's House
Purpose: Mimi's House is a mentoring and nurturing program aimed at children from Prep to Grade 5. The program uses a child centered approach to empower and equip children to manage their emotions and overcome the challenges they may face at school and in their personal lives. Mimi's House provides a supportive, safe and non-judgmental environment in which children can work through their problems and learn to thrive.
Career and Training Initiatives
Purpose: Range of employment and training initiatives that will empower those that are most in need of employment and training experience to develop skills that will generate confidence and independence.
Residential and Mentoring Services
Purpose: Residential Mentoring Services to assist those that need intensive care and assistance to overcome life inhibiting habits and addictions.
Cultural Support and Advocacy
Purpose: We provide culturally trained professionals to give support and education to people seeking help across various people groups. One major focus is working toward alleviating homelessness and health risk behaviors amongst the Australian Indigenous and Pacific Islander local community in Brisbane's CBD and Logan through our various programs and referral agencies. The program is to be expanded to include new migrants as this was identified as a key potential crisis area.
