At the invitation of the local community, The Cottage Homes is stepping in to help. For more than 150 years, we’ve provided secure and affordable housing for older South Australians in need. Now, we are expanding this legacy to the Fleurieu Peninsula with a brand-new Cottage Homes community at Yankalilla.
We’re building 14 brand-new, purpose-designed homes — affordable, modern 1-bedroom units created specifically for local age pensioners who need stable, long-term housing.
These innovative modular homes will offer:
Located on land owned by Club Fleurieu, these homes will create a much-needed pathway to stability for older residents who want to stay in the community they know and love.
But we cannot do it alone.
Each unit costs $223,000 to build.
Your donation will help build more than just housing. It will directly contribute to the construction of one complete home - a home that will immediately provide stability and independence for an age pensioner, and continue to do so for decades to come. With a lifespan of over 45 years, each unit will support many older South Australians over time, offering security, connection to community, and protection from the very real risk of homelessness.
