During this extremely stressful and trying time, Backpacks 4 VIC Kids is continuing to provide urgently needed resources to displaced children. There are many reasons for displacement but with the current restrictions in place and social isolation, many more children are now much more at risk of family violence, crime and homelessness.

We are frightened, worried and feeling very concerned about the anticipated rise in the number of children needing urgent help.

Our ME Packs are full backpacks, or baby care bags, contain new undies, socks, clothing, toiletries, stationery, a blankie, torch, soft toy, hat and much more, to not only give frightened children some belongings of their own but to restore their dignity, and self worth, in a time of fear, grief and confusion.

With the current restrictions on face-to-face fundraising and social distancing we are finding ourselves in unique and distressing circumstances. Our usual fundraising initiatives are not allowed. We must call on you to help us continue to pay the electricity, the internet, the rent, all the costs associated directly with our programs, to ensure we can continue to provide much needed resources to children in crisis.

Support for children unable to access their belongings from a home they cannot safely return to is vital. 

Our volunteers and now very limited staff are doing all they can on the ground.
