CQ Diabetes Group Inc is a non-profit diabetes charity and support group raising diabetes awareness in the Central Queensland community, organising educational camps for young people with diabetes and promoting improved health for adults with Type 1 diabetes through education, self-help group support and social networking. The CQ Diabetes Camps are run by local volunteer clinical staff to provide young people with diabetes authentic self-management learning away from their home environment to improve their control of their diabetes. The camps promote healthy meal planning and balanced diet choices and provide full supervision with a weekend full of fun and recreational experiences.
