We’re a small team with a big impact, but we need your support to keep going.
With rising costs of living and a worsening housing crisis, a lot of folk are doing it tough. For criminalised women, trans and gender diverse people rebuilding their lives after prison, things are even harder.
The new bail laws are disproportionately hurting women, trans and gender diverse people, especially those who are First Nations, experiencing poverty or who have insecure housing. With our current funding, Flat Out workers cannot even come close to meeting the needs of women, trans and gender diverse people in prison.
This last year, Flat Out gave out more than $40,000 in material aid, so the people we support could get necessities, like clothing and whitegoods, get a mobile phone or pay a bond on housing. We need to raise money to continue this essential work for another year.
Donations help Flat Out deliver more outreach support and stronger advocacy: getting more women, trans and gender diverse people to get out and stay out of prison.
