Hello Tim and Ryker here we are raising funds for Brainchild Foundation they are a charity that are very close to us and helped our family in a time of need. we have been growing our hair out to raise money for this amazing foundation we are putting my beard and his mullet to the clippers in honour of our Maci-Louise (my daughter, Rykers big sister). Maci was born with a 2 or 3 in a million person rare brain tumor called a Craniopharyngioma, this tumor starts in the womb on the pituitary gland it creates cysts inside the skull and causes havoc around the brain. Maci was the most stunning child happy, loving, caring, everything you could ask for in a daughter she was amazing everything was amazing until, our little Maci 6 and a half years old out on a shopping trip with her aunt and cousin passed out completely unresponsive for a few seconds something wasnt right she was rushed to the hospital on the 16th of November 2019 where she passed out again in her mums arms Maci was rushed away for a CT scan the doctors came back to us with news that ripped us apart "Maci has a lump on her brain". Maci was taken by ambulance to the WCH. Scans, needles, doctors, nurses everywhere we were terrified, Maci was cool as a cucumber took everything with a smile on her face and just wanted to get better and back to her sleepover at her uncle and aunts house, (she didnt make it back). Mum hardly left the hospital Dad worked all night and slept at the hospital during the day and went home on the weekend to spend a bit of time with Maci's sister Amelia. The tumor and cysts caused Maci to lose her vision still happy with no complaints except for all the needles and "the nurses not keeping their hands to themselves" haha in this time Maci grew fond of my unshaved face being a security thing for her without her vision she knew dad was right there with the hairy face and asked me not to shave it. Maci asked for a vacation on a plane and to pat a dolphin the neurosurge team came up with and course of medication to get Maci out of the hospital and on a plane to pat a dolphin, as soon as we could we hit the sky with Queensland and dolphins in our future we spent a week loving our Maci as much as we could, time flew and before we knew it we were on the way home to have an early Christmas with family and back in hospital on the 24th of December for a second surgery on Maci's brain this one being 13+ hours long, we were told Maci may sleep for a couple days and this was normal for someone having such invasive surgery, to the neurosurge teams surprise our little Maci was awake and giving the doctors a hi5 on the way out of theatre, Amazing. Fast forward a few weeks Maci still in PICU started having some complications with the cycling of her spinal fluid this put pressure on our little princesses brain and she had a siezure on the  12th of Jan which put her in a coma and stole her life from us on the 13th of January 2020. 4 years later Maci has a new little brother Ryker with a killer mullet and we are ready to go bald in honour of our beautiful Maci and raise some money to help other children just like her, so please donate if you can if not a share on your socials will help a million.
