Last year alone Queensland’s volunteer surf lifesavers directly saved the lives of 3,894 beachgoers through in-water rescues and treated 65,133 injured people through first aid treatments. All of this was provided at no cost to Queensland beachgoers!

Every year, Australian’s dig deep to help keep our vital life saving services and volunteers on the beach, doing the job they love. Every dollar raised through SOS Week helps surf life saving clubs across Queensland continue to raise the red and yellow flags and ensure you stay safe at the beach.

SOS Week is pivotal in ensuring that our volunteer surf lifesavers have the necessary equipment, training, and resources to continue safeguarding our state’s beaches. In addition, it and provides a valuable avenue for surf life saving to highlight the services we provide to the community and our urgent need for funding from the community.
