DASSAN assists refugees and people seeking asylum who are in detention in Darwin or have recently been released and need support.

We have no paid staff and virtually no expenses, so you can be confident that every cent of your once-off donation or regular monthly commitment will go to directly supporting those in need.

Our current focus is fundraising to support 'The Darwin 15', five refugee families who were brought to Darwin for medical treatment after seven years on Nauru and have spent more than one year locked in a secure facility here.

DASSAN has been advocating for their release into the community. But after years inside, with no work experience in Australia and no access to Centrelink or any government support, they face an uncertain future. They will need support for at least the first few months for rent and food, as well as funds to help them start their new lives.
