About this cause

What we do and what your donations assist us to do:

During the financial year of 2019, Diverse Communities and Social Services (DCSS) Australia helped over 70 people clear $200K in infringement debts and fines across Australia, with a small number volunteers helping these vulnerable people, the communities in which DCSS Australia helped were people from the following communities: - have a mental or intellectual disability, disorder or illness;
have an addiction to drugs, alcohol or a volatile substance; be experiencing homelessness; be experiencing acute financial hardship, or; be the victim of family violence.

How do we help these people and communities? Via supporting the clients with the following services: - Volunteering/Community Service (unpaid work); Medical or Mental Health Treatment; Education, Vocational or Life Skills Training; Financial Counselling/Case Management; Drug or Alcohol Treatment; Participate as a Mentee in a Mentoring Program (if under 25 years of age) 

Who are we accredited by to run this valuable and voluntary service? The Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety - Fines Victoria (WDP Team); and the NSW Revenue Office - Legal Aid (WDO Team)

DCSS Australia delivers this program in close partnership with the Victorian Department of Justice - Fines Victoria (WDP Team) and the NSW Revenue Office - Legal Aid (WDO Team), City of Melbourne, as well as many of our other Community Partners.
