About this cause

People with disability deserve to be included. Not as an afterthought, but from the beginning.

At AFDO, we work to make sure people with disability are represented where decisions are made.

We bring together disability-specific and cross-disability member organisations from across the country to advocate for:

  • Equal rights
  • Inclusive communities
  • Lasting systemic change

But the systems affecting people with disability change quickly.

Government reforms and consultations happen every week. They affect:

  • The NDIS
  • Safeguarding
  • Transport
  • Employment
  • Education
  • Housing
  • Health
  • Aged care

When decisions are rushed or poorly designed, people with disability pay the price. That is why we need to be ready to respond. Quickly. Clearly. With authority.

Your donation to AFDO’s Advocacy Fund helps power a strong, united national voice. One that keeps disability rights on the agenda and holds governments accountable.

What your donation makes possible

Your donation helps AFDO to:

  • Respond rapidly to consultations and reforms: We provide timely, evidence-based responses and advocacy so disability rights and inclusion remain central to national decision-making.
  • Coordinate lived experience and member-led input: Work with our members across Australia to ensure diverse disability perspectives help shape national advocacy positions – not just the loudest voices or the most resourced organisations.
  • Strengthen coordinated national representation: Support a connected, effective disability movement, especially in periods of major reform or public debate.
  • Keep disability rights visible between election cycles: Sustain long-term advocacy that protects progress and prevents setbacks.

Donate today to help ensure disability rights are never an afterthought.
