Help us build the DMMLI Musical Playground
Th DMMLI Musical Playground is a free online place where children can explore music through listening, movement, play and imagination.
No exams. No leaderboards. No pressure to perform.
Children can climb, slide, swing, explore and play their way through musical experiences designed to develop listening, rhythm, musical curiosity and confidence.
What your donation will help us do
Your donation will help us create and deliver free musical games and experiences that children can use at home, at school or wherever they happen to be.
Why a musical playground?
Music can begin with curiosity rather than instruction. The playground invites children to listen, move, experiment and discover patterns for themselves, with different ways to participate and no single path they have to follow.
Designed for different ways of learning
Children can follow sound, use visual clues, move their bodies, repeat an experience or simply explore. Participation does not depend on physical ability, and there is no requirement to achieve before moving on.
Built for listening first
The Musical Playground begins with sound. Children are encouraged to hear, notice, compare and respond before musical names, symbols or notation are introduced.
Free to explore
DMMLI is developing the Musical Playground as a free resource. Donations help us build the games, create the musical and visual materials, test new experiences and keep them freely available to children, families and educators.
