In 2025 DVAC Ipswich started hosting a Mother’s Day event for children and young people accessing our services where they could create personalised gifts for the mum’s and important women caregivers in their lives, from donations provided to our organisation. Many kids let us know that this was the first Mother’s Day gift their mums had ever received and the first time they had been able to show their mum’s how much they meant to them. It was a powerful moment of connection and joy for families who had experienced so much hardship.
