Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation based in Airlie Beach, right at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. We are committed to engaging the community in the protection of our precious marine life and the aquatic environment of the Whitsunday Region.  

We do this by running a constant Marine Debris Removal Program for the Whitsunday Islands and surrounding coastlines and with the Whitsunday Turtle Rescue Centre to help care for sick and injured turtles for the Whitsunday and Mackay Region.

By removing the mass build up of plastic pollution and caring for marine turtles in need we are directly helping to protect the local marine life and all marine life in the Great Barrier Reef from the devastating effects plastic pollution causes to vulnerable sea creatures, great and small.

Our acheivements to date from July 2009 -

• Removed over 264 + tonne of marine debris from the Whitsunday Islands
• Cared for over 290 + turtles
• Conducted over 60 land based clean ups to prevent this litter becoming marine debris
• Over 2,000 + kgs of marine debris ready to be transformed into reusable products
• Nearly 14,000 volunteers have helped us achieve these results !!!
