Edmund Rice Camps provide residential and non - residential recreational camp experiences for children between the ages of 7-17 years who need a holiday due to their family, financial or social circumstances. Activities provided for the children include daily camp life preparation, cook outs, team games, nature exhibitions, swimming, kite flying, poster and frame making, clay modelling, wearable art, lip syncing, film making, acting and lots and lots of singing.
Young adult volunteers and leaders from the ages of 16-25 years provide Edmund Rice Camps services. Young adult volunteer leaders are available for each `camp“ program at a 1:1 ratio, providing opportunities for close supervision and highly accessible volunteer staff contact and support.
Children at risk and their families as well as young adult leaders benefit from our programs. Children access our program through a referral process and young adults can apply to become a leader on our camps and are accepted after successfully completing leadership and child protection training.
