Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high quality housing to an innovative range of support, education and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk of, or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research and innovation to drive widespread change.

Launch Housing remains open, and our front-line staff are the first-responders during this state of emergency.

In the last couple of weeks Launch Housing’s frontline teams have been able to get 134 people off the streets and into accommodation. A team of 20 dedicated outreach workers have been working night and day to reach out to people who need support. We’ve handed out self-care packs with food and masks and hand sanitiser (and food for pets!) to many more, and are busy searching for accommodation for people who are still on the street.

• self-care packs to people sleeping rough, containing everything from hand sanitizer and masks, to hearty meals and food for pets 
• streamlined priority COVID-19 screening and health support for vulnerable people 
• safe accommodation and support for people to self-isolate if needed 
• phone helplines for women and children who are facing family violence while self-isolating
• support to anyone having difficulty maintaining their tenancy or needing extra support with day to day living
• and, support to families at risk of losing their homes.
