Our Vision
An Australian entertainment industry which actively and openly addresses the mental health issues of its workers.

Our Industry Problem:
Based on figures from an industry wide Australian study[1] conducted by Entertainment Assist and Victoria University in 2016:

  • Suicide attempts for Australian Entertainment Industry workers are more than double that of the general population.
  • Australian Entertainment Industry Workers experience suicide ideation 5-7 times more than the general population and 2-3 times more over a lifetime.
  • Levels of moderate to severe anxiety symptoms are 10 times higher than in the general population.
  • Levels of depression symptoms are five times higher than in the general population.
  • Road Crew members experience suicide ideation almost 9 times more than the general population.

“...the entertainment and cultural industry is in severe distress, and in urgent need of early prevention and intervention programs to reduce the impacts of those with health and wellbeing problems, and to prevent new occurrences.”[2]
