Eyes4Everest is a not for profit dedicated to treating preventable blindness in the Everest region of Nepal.
Following our successful 2014 and 2015 trip, we are hoping to raise $80,000AUD to start up the Eyes4Everest Hospital in association with Nepalese based Advanced Eyecare Pty Ltd. The hospital will be located in the Lalitpur region of Kathmandu and service a population of 200,000 people. It will be the only eye hospital in that region.
We believe our program can only be sustainable through servicing a semi-metropolitan area and using the profit to run our mobile Everest clinics. Anyone in need of surgery can be flown to the hospital where they’ll receive treatment, food and accommodation.
In the past Eyes4Everest have found and corrected vision problems like astigmatism and convergence difficulties in school children. UV related damage like snow blindness, pterygium and treatable cataract but you can make a difference =)
