We are a grassroots, volunteer-run cat animal rescue organisation, based in the Brisbane area. Our mission is to give 'death row' or surrendered animals a second chance at life.

We desex, vaccinate, microchip and where necessary, rehabilitate cats in the safety and comfort of our network of loving volunteer foster carers. When they are ready, we offer them for adoption to suitable forever homes.

Our aim is to minimise the large number of animals euthanised every year in pounds and shelters. We want to help reduce the numbers of unwanted litters of kittens by advocating companion animal desexing and responsible pet ownership.

Furry Friends ARQ depends on the tireless care and commitment of a community of more than 30 volunteers. Unfortunately, love doesn’t pay the vet bills. We are not government funded and depend on donations, grants and fundraising to support our ongoing work.

We rely solely on donations from generous members of the public and our sponsors. 100% of every dollar donated goes towards the medical and rehoming costs of cats in foster care. We welcome any help we receive, either through the donation of money or goods, or volunteering.
