Flipside Circus

Monthly giving - Flipside's community programs

$

We are committed to providing opportunities for young people to access the benefits of circus programs regardless of their circumstances – and to work to become a national leader in youth arts and circus arts practice.

“Children discovering that their limits are much higher than they thought is exhilarating and inspiring.” Darren Ball – Principal Watson Road State School

Flipside Circus relies on donors like you to help us keep empowering young people through circus.

SUPPORT RESIDENCIES IN REMOTE AND REGIONAL COMMUNITIES

Flipside’s remote and regional residencies are all about building relationships with communities over a number of years/visits; and helping grow local skills and creative capacity.

“We’ve had footy clinics, and cricket and AFL… but none of them have had this effect on so many of the kids. There’s a different energy to what the [trainers do]” Jeannette Greenaway, Normanton Arts Council.

Flipside’s residency programs have reached 30 communities across Queensland in the last two years – your donation will help us to stay on the road working with young people in regional and remote Queensland.

SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE IN FINANCIAL HARDSHIP

Flipside’s Bursary Program helps young people overcome financial hardship and access subsidised circus training.

“I thought circus might be all about clowns and popcorn – but it’s not. I didn’t expect all these fit people! All these skills… it’s so inspiring. They get you really fit and the atmosphere is so energetic” – Mark, 15 years old

Your donation helps create opportunities and has the power to transform young people and the world they live in.

SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Flipside’s Explore the Possibilities Program supports children and young people with special/high care needs to access circus programs. Including a weekly class that brings circus trainers and occupational therapists (from On Call Children’s Therapy) together to work with children with disabilities and their parents/carers.

"My son, diagnosed with asperger syndrome never quite fit in ~ until we discovered Flipside Circus, where being different was permission granted and it was through this safe space where Ethan naturally developed coordination and communication" Joanna Wharton (parent).

Your donation will help tens of students like Karen‘s son to explore their creativity and physucality while building their confidence.
