About this cause

Liz Stringer’s powerful To Survive tour is more than just a chance to share her latest emotive, piano-driven release. The 17-date national tour doubles as a campaign to spotlight Australia’s growing housing crisis and raise critical funds for those most in need. Liz is proud to be linking up with Anglesea Community House to help raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness or housing stress in the Anglesea and Aireys Inlet communities by supporting our FoodLink service.

As we all know, the cost-of-living crisis has touched everyone, and sadly, Anglesea and Aireys Inlet has not been spared. In just the past two years, the number of households we support has tripled. We now assist a wide range of people—from families with young children and teenagers with growing appetites, to those facing illness, and individuals struggling to keep up with rising rents and rates. Every fortnight, we deliver food parcels and vouchers to ensure no one in our community goes without.

Today, Foodlink  a project of Anglesea Community House is guided by three inspirational women:

·         Lorna Botham, who has dedicated 25 years to our cause

·         Marg Renkin, who has been with us for 18 years

·         Liz Clarke, an integral part of the team for the past 10 years

Foodlink receives no government funding. Our work is made possible only through the kindness and generosity of our local community.

All donations received by Anglesea Community House will go directly towards Anglesea & Aireys Inlet FoodLink.

Thank you for your support!

A message from Liz

As an artist who's toured all corners of Australia for many years now, the growing wealth disparity and impact of the housing crisis in this country has never been more obvious to me.

Housing is a human right and yet, because of years of policy decisions and a lack of forward thinking, an increasing number of Australians are either already homeless or experiencing chronic housing insecurity. It's never sat right with me that a country as rich as Australia should allow a section of its constituents to live so precariously while others become more and more wealthy. I'm helping to facilitate my audience to support their communities in the hope that it further shines a bright light on the issues facing vulnerable Australians everywhere.

Homelessness and housing stress can impact anyone at any time and, I feel that I have a social responsibility to communities, who have been so good to me over the years, to provide support for those people where I can.

If you have the means to contribute, every donation is appreciated. There will be a chance to meet the people behind Anglesea & Aireys Inlet FoodLink at the show, and to talk about ways you can get involved or lend further support.
