30th Annual Frankston Community Appeal - Remembering Sonia Dawson

Community Support Frankston (CSF) helps local disadvantaged families and individuals experiencing food and financial hardship, especially around the festive season.

Shortly before Christmas 2020, CSF received the sad news of the passing away of our much loved volunteer and Frankston Community Appeal angel - Sonia Dawson. Over the years, Sonia has been very involved in these special fundraising efforts, helping to give local dissadvantaged community members a better festive season.

In remembering and celebrating the life of Sonia, her family and friends have requested that in lieu of flowers, people may wish to make a donation to the appeal, with every dollar being directed to material assistance through CSF.

This is an opportunity to support the work of our volunteers by helping us raise funds to purchase non-perishable food items, vouchers and other goods for volunteers to pack into festive hampers and provide to severely dissadvantaged people as part of our Emergency Releif program.

Our organisation works in conjunction with other local emergency relief, welfare agencies and special development schools in Frankston so more people can be assisted with fairer allocation of donations - it also enables us to stretch our combined limited resources.

Last Christmas, CSF coordinated the distribution of 726 festive hampers, providing hamper assistance (alone) to 1871 people - including 980 children experiencing financial hardship in Frankston.

Donations may also be used to assist dissadvantaged people with essential material aid (such as food releif) outside of the festive season.

All monetary donations over $2.00 are tax deductible with receipts issued.
