Gateways Brighter Futures campaign will help us to respond to the rapidly growing need in the Geelong region for autism services in the vital early years of development , plus providing ongoing parent support and respite as families continue their caring role. We need to expand now due to earlier identification of children with autism, research showing the value of early intervention and significant regional population growth.
How Will the Funds Be Used?
Gateways is building a new autism assessment suite, therapy rooms and parent support/ group activity rooms. We are also increasing accommodating extra therapists, psychologists and teachers to provide these much needed specialist services at our centre, and through outreach wherever children live in the region.
How Does Gateways Help Children with Autism and Other Disabilities and Their Families
Gateways currently provides 29 responsive programs for more than 1100 children and adults with autism, and other complex disabilities/additional needs and their families in the Geelong region of Victoria. This includes autism assessment, early intervention, support to attend kindergarten, flexible packages of support as well as a range of parent support, respite and social programs, and case management services. Our agency also provides alternative accommodation and support where families can no longer continue their caring role.
Please donate now so we can be there for children with autism and other disabilities and their families who urgently need our support.
