We have inherited a beautiful country but it is seriously threatened. The environmental issues we face in Australia today can seem overwhelming and insurmountable. We know that species and ecosystems are declining, not due to 'natural' processes but because of what humans have done and are still doing. But the good news is we have the people, knowledge and wisdom to save the environment. We have the skills and answers - your donation will help us to work towards implementing the solutions.
What does the Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN) do?
The AEGN's purpose is to grow the amount of philanthropic funds going to the environment within Australia. The AEGN provides information to environmental funders so they can become more effective grantmakers. We provide information through seminars, workshops, field-trips and research papers to help our members make decisions about where they would like to direct their funding. Our information is unbiased, and we do not work directly with any environmental non government organisations. We work with experts in the fields of environment and science to provide our members with comprehensive briefings on environmental issues and suggested solutions.
How your donation will be used:
Your money will go towards the continued education of our members who currently or potentially give significant sums of money to the environment. Specifically:
- Running workshops for environmental funders so they can determine what environmental issues they would like to fund.
- Promoting our environmental grantmakers guide, 'Giving Green' to potential funders across the country.
- Developing and implementing projects which increase the knowledge and skills for environmental giving within the philanthropic community.
- Contributing to the ongoing operational administration of the AEGN.
