Did you know that according to the Gen 17 data, one fifth of the Australian Jewish population has been through Habo in one way or another? What does that mean for our responsibility to this community?

Nostalgia is a funny thing.

We don’t usually want to return to our teenage years, to be 20 again. Mostly, because life has only become better - the world has opened, we’ve taken chances, sometimes crashed and sometimes succeeded. 

Do you ever wonder how you learnt to crash or to keep trying? To think creatively? To challenge and disagree with ideas but not make it personal? 

A youth movement - Habo - can provide an environment of creativity, games, camps to get kids to look up (from screens), to look across (at each other) and to look out (at the world), knowing they have an important role to play. 

You were that kid. Or that kid was yours. And now, it’s our job, together, to make sure more kids can engage with their Jewish identity, with Israel and with our society to be the change that the world might need.
