The Healesville SES Unit supports the community in a large area of the Yarra Valley, based at Healesville, extending from Yarra Glen, down to Don Valley , up to Toolangi and out to the Black Spur.
Our Unit turns out regularly for damage caused by storms and floods. We are also a Road Crash Rescue unit which means we assist Victoria Police with rescuing people from trapped vehicles. We assist Ambulance Victoria with extracting casualties from the bush and also join in with land searches. In bushfire emergencies, we assist the CFA with base camps.
Our main focus is the safety of our volunteer members. We do this by using up to date and well maintained equipment, by training regularly and by supporting our members' wellbeing.
We are asking our community for donations to help make up the difference between the funds we receive from the State Government and what it actually costs to do all of the above.
Thank you for your support.
