Helpful Hounds raises and trains assistance dogs for children and adults living with disability.

Each dog receives approximately 18 to 24 months of specialised training, daily care, socialisation, enrichment, veterinary treatment and public access preparation before being carefully matched and placed with their handler.

We ask our clients to contribute $45,000 towards their fully trained assistance dog. However, we estimate that the true cost to Helpful Hounds can be up to $90,000 by the time the dog is fully trained and placed.

Helpful Hounds must raise the remaining amount through donations, fundraising and sponsorships. Your donation will contribute towards food, veterinary care, training equipment, enrichment, specialised training, placement and ongoing support for our assistance dog teams.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps us continue giving our dogs the happy and low stress upbringing they deserve while preparing them to confidently support their future handlers.
