Help Gus get the treatment he needs

About this cause

 Meet Gus.

Gus was taken to the vet by his owners with the intention of having him put to sleep. Thankfully, the vets saw what a beautiful boy he was and reached out to us to see if we could help.

They tested Gus with kittens, cats and other dogs, and he showed no reactivity at all. We couldn’t let this beautiful boy’s story end there.

Gus is now safely in our care, and he is honestly one of the most loving, gentle and well-behaved boys.

Unfortunately, we’ve discovered Gus has several medical issues that need attention.

His entropion is severe. His eyelids are too large for his eyes and are rolling inwards, causing him ongoing pain and discomfort. His eyes essentially need to be reconstructed.

The vets have also recommended removing his cheek folds, which are causing him problems, and Gus has a cruciate injury that they believe may have been there for some time.

Gus needs:

- Entropion surgery to correct his painful inward-turning eyelids
- Eye reconstruction to help protect his eyes and relieve his discomfort
- Cheek fold surgery to remove the folds causing ongoing issues
- Assessment and treatment of his cruciate injury
- Veterinary consultations, medications and ongoing aftercare
- Follow-up appointments and recovery care

We’re fundraising $6,200 to help cover the cost of Gus’s treatment and give him the chance to finally live a life free from pain.

Gus was given a second chance. Now it’s our turn to give him the life he deserves.
