Horizons Family Law Centre ("Horizons FLC") provides free and non-profit legal help to people in crisis with no other access to a lawyer. Its work is predominantly in the area of parenting disputes, mostly for families with entrenched high conflict or a history of control and violence.
Horizons FLC is run as an expression of faith in Jesus, and has been operating since 2005 (previously as "Horizons Community Legal Centre"). It provides more than 1,000 hours of legal advice each year through its free telephone advice line and free face to face advice clinics in North, Western, Northern Beaches and South Western Sydney. It also runs a caseload of mediations and court proceedings for people in the greatest need.
Horizons FLC is included in Legal Aid NSW's schedule of community organisations providing legal services and is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a tax deductible gift recipient.
