Australians want to know that the future is going to be bright for our children and grandchildren. We want to have a say about how our country positions itself in the world.
Instead what we have seen is international agreements, military operations, and even the decision to go to war with a foreign power made out of sight of the public.
That's why in IPAN are campaigning to build a broad dialog amongst Australians around a genuinely independent foreign and defence policy for our country rather than a policy that ties us to the foreign military actions of the United States government.
We conducted a wide-ranging People's Inquiry into the costs and consequences of our dependency on the United States over the past two years. It is entitled CHARTING OUR OWN COURSE: Findings of the People’s Inquiry into the Australia-US alliance. The 90 page report has been presented to almost all Federal politicians. Now we're asking for people like you to champion our work. Through the auspice of Just Peace Queensland, IPAN has launched this fund-raising campaign to ensure that we can employ a part time national coordinator to carry out the multitude of tasks necessary to assist our voluteers build this campaign further.
Our goal is to raise $12,000 each year to fund this part-time position
