The purpose of the Foundation is to receive bequests and donations which are invested in a capital base. As a Public Ancillary Fund, the Foundation is legally required to distribute at least 4 percent of its net worth each year, which in teh past has included Blind Citizens Australia (BCA).
The Foundation also contributes to the Hugh Jeffrey scholarship initiative. These scholarships, awarded by Blind Citizens Australia (BCA), support up to five students who are blind or vision impaired to complete higher education in their chosen field of endeavour.
