Girls from Oz, Co-Founder (2007 - 2025)
Australian Girls Choir, Founder (1984 - 2025)
Judith Curphey OAM was dedicated to nurturing the voices, confidence and potential of young Australian girls. As the Founder of the Australian Girls Choir and Co-Founder of Girls from Oz (g-oz), Judith believed deeply in the power of the performing arts to change lives.
Since 2007, Judith's vision and commitment has helped Girls from Oz reach and positively impact the lives of over 3,000 girls living in remote communities accross Australia.
As of 2025, g-oz has delivered 178 Community Programs, 22 Travel Programs and 4 Reverse Travel Programs, harnessing the power of performing arts to keep girls in school and build on their confidence. Through g-oz programs, girls living in Western Australia's remote Kimberley region and Queensland's Cape York Peninsula have been supported with reliable and consistent high-quality performing arts education, transformative opportunities, and pathways to success.
The Judith Curphey Commemoration Campaign has been established to honour her extraordinary life and ensure that her work continues for generations to come.

Girls from Oz acknowledges the traditional custodians of all the lands on which we meet, sing and dance. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
