Karul Projects Dance Theatre is a First Nations-led contemporary dance-theatre company based on Minjungbal Country on the Southern Gold Coast. We create and present original works grounded in Australian Indigenous stories, cultural knowledge, and lived experience.
This is a significant year for Karul. Our inaugural ensemble of four employed First Nations artists launches in July 2026. The Mighty Mob is in creative development. A new international collaboration with Atamira Dance Company, one of Aotearoa's leading Maori contemporary dance companies, is underway.
Your donation supports the work - the making, the artists, and the communities and relationships at the heart of everything we do.
Every gift goes directly to the work:
$50 - towards studio snacks and fuel to keep artists going through long development days
$100 - towards a shared meal at a Karul community event
$500 - bring local cultural voices like Biren Cultural Group into Karul's creative and community practice
$1,500 - put an artist in the studio for a week of development, where the real work happens
$5,000 - fund the Yagabaling bursary, seeding new First Nations stories and giving an artist the space and support to bring them to life.
Donate before 30 June and make your gift tax deductible this financial year.
