Keratoconus Australia supports young Australians with the eye disease called keratoconus, which can cause severe vision impairment if not diagnosed and treated early. Research shows that this disease may affect over 300,000 Australians and these numbers are rising.

Keratoconus Australia is the only peer support group for keratoconus in Australia and is only one of two peer support groups for keratoconus in the world. 

Your donation is important and much appreciated. It will be used to further our work to prevent and control keratoconus and to provide assistance for people with keratoconus and their families.

Thanks to donors like yourself, the Association has been able to promote research into new treatments for keratoconus, like corneal crosslinking which is the only treatment that can slow or halt progression in this sight-stealing disease.

We have helped launch the Save Sight Keratoconus Registry to track outcomes of keratoconus operations, campaigned about the dangers of eye rubbing and created partnerships to improve the care of keratoconus patients.  We are also participating in the training of young optometrists to ensure that keratoconus patients will continue to receive the very best care in the future.

We also advocate on behalf of patients and their families for more affordable and accessible treatments. 

We assist patients find eye-carers experienced in keratoconus in their local area and provide them with information about the disease and its treatments
