Kidsafe SA is the leading independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting safety and preventing unintentional deaths and serious injuries to South Australian children. In Australia, over 150 children die each year from preventable injuries, while a further 58,000 are hospitalised. This means more children die from injury than from cancer, asthma and infectious diseases combined. Kidsafe exists to prevent these tragedies.

Key areas of expenditure:

• The Kidsafe Centre located at the Women's and Children's Hospital-face-to-face contact and advice provided to parents, carers and staff where it is needed the most
• Telephone support line
• Resource development and distribution across the state where it is needed most - targeted to at-risk groups including families with low literacy levels, CALD groups
• Specific injury issue programs, i.e. Seasonal awareness campaigns
• Website, publications, newsletters, social media and e-alerts
• Community outreach education and awareness programs conducted across the state
• Workforce development training with staff and health professionals working directly with families
• Infant Safety Training for foster carers and residential care
• Playground safety advisory services-advice, training, resources and inspection service
• Road safety services - accredited child car restraint training, free child car restraint fitting days conducted across the state
• Events - National Kidsafe Day, The Helen Noblet Award, Playspace Design Awards, Close the Pool Gate Campaign etc.
