About this cause
Lifeline Central West is a not for profit, non-government organization which relies on 95% of its funding from the community. This supports and trains volunteer telephone counsellors to be available 24 hours a week.

How will the funds be used?

Funds contributed by online donation will be used in the training of volunteers so they can respond to over 200,000 calls across NSW annually. It costs approximately $1,5000.00 per volunteer to ensure adequate training in the 24-hour telephone crisis counselling service each year.

Key Areas of Expenditure

The reduction in after-hours mental health service has increased demand on Lifeline in the terms of caller volume and also in the complexity of the calls being handled. To deal with this demand we need more funding to deliver the comprehensive training required by our volunteer telephone counsellors.
